On Palm Sunday
This Sunday is Palm Sunday when we remember the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. We remember he rode down the path that would have been taken by a conquering hero, but he did so on a donkey, the symbol of humility. This imagery fits well with the final segment of our six-part sermon series, "Grounded in Prayer" that has been focusing on the Lord's Prayer.
This week our topic is "kingdom, power, and glory," the final words of the prayer. Our scriptures will be taken from Luke 19:29-44 and Philippians 2:6-11.
As we begin our spiritual journey to Easter, please plan to be in church for not only be in church for Palm Sunday and Easter but plan to remember the reason it all took place and why resurrection was necessary. Join us for the Good Friday Tenebrae service on April 19th at 7:00 PM. Only with a full understanding of the events of the crucifixion can we appreciate the glory of both Palm Sunday and Easter.
Grace & Peace,
