Handbell choirs have long been a part of the music program at Covenant Church.

The Covenant Ringers is a mixed age group of experienced ringers that rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm in the Sanctuary.  The group presents an anthem approximately once each month at the 10:45 service.

The present choir is comprised of 13 talented ringers who span a wide range of occupations and ages.  None of the members are professional musicians; they give of their own time to rehearse weekly and perform with the group.  Several ringers enjoy performing solo pieces with piano accompaniment, or playing in duets and trios of handbells alone.  Their concert repertoire includes a wide variety of musical selections from settings of favorite hymn tunes and original handbell compositions, to popular and folk song arrangements.

The Asbury Ringers is a mixed age group of beginning to intermediate level ringers.  Rehearsals are normally held on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 7:15 pm in the Sanctuary, although the group is not rehearsing at the present time.  The Asbury Ringers present anthems in church on an occasional basis.

The Asbury Ringers is a great way for ringers to continue to develop their ringing and music reading skills.  The group is designed so that ringers of all ages can participate and enhance their abilities.  Ringing exercises are used to develop confidence, and the repertoire is chosen to teach all of the various ringing techniques used in handbell music today.

We need your help!  At the present time, the Asbury Ringers are not rehearsing due to several open positions in the choir.  If you've ever wanted to give handbell ringing a try, now would be a great time!  Please contact Kirk Schneider (kirk.schneider@covumc.com) for more information.
