2018 Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive

posted:
December 26, 2017

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, January 28 and Sunday, February 4 (Super Bowl Sunday). The youth of Covenant Church will be receiving your gifts of cash and non-perishable food on those days as part of the 2018 Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive.

One of Covenant Church's unique contributions to this ministry is that many of our members conduct a food drive where they live, work, or go to school. We hope that many of you will continue doing that again this year and that many of you will consider trying this with your family, friends or co-workers. Flyers and empty boxes will be available in Wesley Hall in January. Feel free to take as many as you need. Wawa soup cups to collect your spare change will also be available in Wesley Hall. Cash donations are especially appreciated because Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry can use your cash donations to buy perishable food at wholesale cost to fill in whatever nutritional gaps that they are experiencing.  You can donate online right here.

Last year, Covenant Church was one of the leading churches in the State of Pennsylvania for our contributions to the Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive. Let’s work even harder this year to help address this great need in our community.

The community food drive distribution and pickup will happen on Saturday, January 27 and Saturday, February 3. And, to get the Springfield-area Souper Bowl of Caring food drive off to a great start, a kick-off rally will be held on the evening of Sunday, January 14 at the high school. Look for more information in Sunday bulletins and at www.covumc.com/sboc. If you are interested in helping, please contact Greg Corner at greg.corner@covumc.com or 484-343-3047.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
