Sundays in January

December 26, 2017

While the Christian calendar begins on the first Sunday of Advent, the secular calendar begins with January. We will be beginning the new year with something old and something new.

On January 7, we will again use the Wesleyan Covenant Service as a way of recognizing the fresh start we are offered by Jesus Christ. Our message will focus on new beginnings using Mark 1:4-11 as the text.

On January 14, we will begin our sermon series on Living the Five with the sermon, “You Can’t Do Life Alone”. Our scriptures will be 1 Samuel 20:12-13, 16-17, Romans 12:9-21 and John 15:12-17.

On January 21, our topic will be “Growing People Change” and the scriptural basis will be Philippians 3:4-8, James 1:2-4, and Galatians 5:22-25.

On January 28, we will continue the series with “Saved People Serve People” based on Acts 18:24-28, 1 Peter 4:10-11 and Luke 10:25-37.

The series continues into February as follows:

February 4 – “Found People Find People” using Acts 8:26-35, Romans 10:12-15, and Matthew 28:18-20 as the texts.

We will conclude on February 11, with “Worship is a Lifestyle” using scriptures from 2 Samuel 6:12-15, 17-18, Matthew 22:37-40, and John 4:23-24.
