Extending the Table – Home Communion

posted:
February 28, 2017

For the past year Covenant Church has been engaged in the ministry of “Extending the Table” of Communion and Christian hospitality to those who are unwillingly absent from the service. Each Communion Sunday several dedicated lay volunteers receive home communion kits prepared with bread and juice that were consecrated by the pastor at the morning service. The volunteers go to various homes extending the table of our Lord and hospitality to members who are otherwise unable to be in attendance. All visits are by appointment and happen either on Sunday or Monday.

If you would like to be a part of this ministry, either as a server or a recipient, please feel free to contact one of the pastors. For team members there is a short training before being sent to do this vital ministry.

Please note that this ministry is a supplement to the visits made by the pastors and does not in any way replace pastoral visitations.
