The purpose of Covenant United Methodist Church is to be a vital and inclusive Christian community of encouragement and hope and, as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ, to reach out to all persons in ministries of worship, learning and service.
Covenant has embarked on an exciting new process of revitalizing its ministry in order to better serve its community in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Team-Based Ministry is a leadership model that is not based on traditional church hierarchy, but on a process of collaboration that mirrors the relationship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Teams are formed as Worship, Service or Learning needs arise. Interested members are invited to join a team, write a team charter, and work together to accomplish the team's stated goals.
We have eight ministry clusters responsible for various aspects of the church’s ministry. Each cluster is headed by a coordinator. The eight coordinators along with the Planning and Policy Team Leader, the Lay Leader, and the Lay Member of Conference, comprise the Planning and Policy Team. The Planning and Policy Team serves as the coordinating body which sets overall policy for Covenant United Methodist Church.
