Souper Bowl of Caring

Covenant members provide both leadership and muscle for Springfield's Souper Bowl of Caring, a massive food drive in February during which food donations are collected from local households, then sorted, packed and shiped to local food pantries.

In 2010, churches and civic organizations in Springfield collected over 22,000 food items.  In 2011, we collected over 24,000 food items.  We actively strive to improve collection rates as well as civic participation each year.

We want to do even better this year!  Please help those among us who are less fortunate than we are by joining the Souper Bowl of Caring Team at Covenant Church. Thank you so much!

The Souper Bowl of Caring Food Drive Team is very grateful to report that your generosity has resulted in record-high donations in 2012.

On Sunday, February 5, 2012 millions of people all over the world will tune in to watch the Super Bowl football game. There will be parties with abundant food, friendship and fellowship. At the same time, there will be people right here in Delaware County worrying about staying warm and finding a meal.

FacebookKeep up with the collection effort and spread the word at the Delaware County Souper Bowl of Caring facebook page.

NOTE: The Souper Bowl of Caring ministry is national in scope, but addresses needs of the local community. For further information go to: www.souperbowl.org or www.tacklehunger.org.
